Former All That Star Christy Knowings’ Cause of Death Revealed After Tragic Passing at 46

Christy Knowings, best known for her time as a cast member on Nickelodeon’s All That, died on August 11, 2026, at the age of 46.

A death certificate obtained and released on September 2 provides new details about the circumstances surrounding her death. The document lists cardiac arrest as the immediate cause of death.

According to the certificate, the conditions leading to the cardiac arrest included acute hypoxic respiratory failure and status asthmaticus, a severe and prolonged asthma attack that can become life-threatening. Asthma was identified as the underlying cause.

Knowings had been hospitalized several days before her death. Her family previously revealed that she was admitted to the hospital on August 7 after suffering a serious asthma attack. She was later taken off life support, according to her loved ones.

News of Knowings’ death prompted an outpouring of tributes from those who remembered her warmth, humor and talent. Among those honoring her was former All That castmate Kenan Thompson, who paid tribute to Knowings and described her as one of the funniest people he had ever known.
