TRIPLE JOY: HOSPITAL CELEBRATES HISTORIC ARRIVAL OF ITS FIRST TRIPLETS

A young family in Avaré, São Paulo, is celebrating an extraordinary milestone after welcoming triplets at Santa Casa de Avaré hospital. The event marks the very first time the medical facility has recorded a triplet birth in its history.

Lawyer Gabriela Borges de Souza, 29, gave birth to sons Heitor and Thomaz alongside daughter Sophia via a scheduled one-hour cesarean section. For Gabriela and her husband, Thiago Chagas, this journey was filled with wonderful surprises. During their initial ultrasound, the couple was thrilled to discover they were expecting twins. However, a second scan revealed a third baby, leaving them initially speechless before overwhelming happiness set in.

Obstetrician Adolfo Ramires highlighted that the babies are fraternal triplets, having developed from separate eggs. He noted that the pregnancy progressed remarkably well without requiring premature delivery, a common occurrence in multiple pregnancies. Since previous local triplet births were always transferred to neighboring cities, this successful delivery represents a historic achievement for Santa Casa de Avaré. Gabriela expressed profound gratitude, sharing how meaningful it was for her healthy babies to make hospital history.

Now settled at home, the couple faces the delightful challenge of caring for three newborns who look remarkably similar. To keep up with feeding schedules and baths, Gabriela jokingly mentioned using identification labels and progress charts. Though caught off guard by the unexpected news early on, their home is now filled with triple the cuddles, triple the responsibility, and triple the joy.
