Mother of Twins Welcomes Triplets: “I Was Completely Speechless”
When 36-year-old teacher Graziela Cândido discovered she was pregnant, it was already an unexpected turn of events. But nothing could have prepared her for the ultrasound that revealed she was carrying three babies. Graziela recently gave birth to triplet daughters—Helena, Heloísa, and Aurora—at Nossa Senhora da Conceição Hospital in Tubarão, Brazil.

Born via a planned cesarean delivery at 35 weeks, the girls developed through a rare trichorionic, triamniotic pregnancy, meaning each baby had her own separate placenta and amniotic sac. This unique arrangement significantly reduced potential medical risks, leading to a smooth delivery and three healthy newborns.
The arrival of the triplets dramatically transformed Graziela’s household. She and her husband were already raising three children: eight-year-old twins Vitor and Vicente, alongside six-year-old Ana Júlia. Recalling the moment her doctor delivered the news, Graziela admitted she was left entirely speechless, while her sister laughed in shock.

Though initially overwhelmed by the financial and practical demands of caring for six young children, Graziela’s anxiety quickly shifted into joy and purpose. Following the birth, she chose to undergo a tubal ligation, feeling that six children completed her family perfectly. Surrounded by relatives and recovering smoothly, Graziela embraces her vibrant home, viewing her journey from surprise to motherhood as one of her life’s greatest blessings.
