“I WAS JUST A GIRL THAT MET A GUY” — PATRICK CLANCY’S NEW WIFE DEFENDS THEIR ROMANCE AND CALLS HIM “THE MOST SELFLESS FATHER”

For the first time, Dr. Rachel Danis is publicly speaking about her relationship with Patrick Clancy, defending their romance and pushing back against what she says has become a distorted story surrounding their lives.

Danis, an infertility specialist who married Patrick earlier this year, described him as “the most selfless father and supportive partner” in a preview of their upcoming interview with 60 Minutes.

In a clip released ahead of the interview, Danis addressed the scrutiny surrounding her relationship with Patrick.

“I don’t understand how the story has been so twisted,” she said.

She went on to describe Patrick as a devoted father and supportive partner.

Danis also spoke about how the couple first met, saying she was simply “a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday.”

“And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that,” she added.

The comments appear to directly address speculation that has surrounded the timing and circumstances of their relationship.

A RELATIONSHIP THAT BEGAN AFTER A FAMILY TRAGEDY

Patrick and Lindsay Clancy were married in 2016 and had three children: Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months.

In January 2023, the children died at the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

Lindsay was subsequently charged in connection with their deaths and the case became one of the most closely watched criminal proceedings in Massachusetts.

Patrick later divorced Lindsay and eventually began a new chapter of his life with Danis.

The couple married in April 2026, according to reports about their relationship.

PATRICK SPEAKS PUBLICLY FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE MISTRIAL

The upcoming 60 Minutes interview also marks Patrick’s first major television interview since Lindsay’s murder trial ended in a mistrial.

The trial began in July 2026 but ended after jurors were unable to reach the unanimous verdict required to resolve the case. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they will seek another trial.

Patrick testified during the proceedings and spoke about the events surrounding the deaths of his children.

“I STILL TALK TO MY KIDS ALL THE TIME”

Patrick told correspondent Ross Douthat that he still feels connected to his three children.

“I still talk to my kids all the time,” he said.

When asked what he says to them, Patrick answered, “Help me. All the time.”

He said he likes to believe they help him and that maintaining that connection is one way he continues to cope with their absence.

Patrick also addressed the intense online speculation that surrounded him during Lindsay’s trial.

CBS News reported that he has faced conspiracy theories on social media, despite there being no established finding that he was involved in the children’s deaths.

“I THINK I DID THE BEST I COULD”

In another preview from the interview, Patrick was asked whether he feels that he failed in some way.

His response was deeply personal.

“I think I did the best I could with what I had at the time, and I live with the outcome. I live with it every day, but I think I did the best I could,” he said.

His comments offer a glimpse into the guilt, grief and unanswered emotions he says he continues to carry.
