PRESLEY GERBER, SON OF CINDY CRAWFORD AND RANDE GERBER, DIES AT 27

Presley Gerber, the model and only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

Gerber died Sunday, September 20, at a rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles, according to medical examiner records. His death was confirmed by a representative for his family, who asked the public to respect their privacy during what they described as an extremely difficult and painful time.

The cause of death has not been released. Officials are awaiting the results of an autopsy, meaning further details about the circumstances surrounding his death may not be known immediately.

A MEMBER OF ONE OF FASHION’S BEST-KNOWN FAMILIES

Born in California in 1999, Presley was the eldest child and only son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. His younger sister, Kaia Gerber, followed their mother into the fashion industry and has also built a career as an actress.

Presley began modeling as a teenager after signing with IMG Models. He made his runway debut in 2016 and subsequently worked with major fashion names including Calvin Klein and Dolce & Gabbana. He also appeared alongside his mother in a recreation of Crawford’s famous Pepsi commercial for the 2018 Super Bowl.

Although he was born into one of the world’s most recognizable fashion families, Presley developed a career of his own and appeared in campaigns and runway shows throughout his late teens and twenties.

HE HAD SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT HIS STRUGGLES

In recent years, Presley had become increasingly open about his experiences with mental health, depression, addiction and recovery.

He used social media to discuss his personal experiences and launched a series called “Mental Health Mondays,” where he encouraged conversations about mental health and recovery.

In one interview, Presley said he hoped that sharing what he had experienced could help other people who were facing similar difficulties.

His sister Kaia also spoke publicly about the effect of her brother’s struggles on their family in a recent interview with Vogue. She described Presley as someone who was willing to be unusually open about his experiences rather than hide them from the public.

Earlier this year, Presley appeared to be receiving support from his family as he continued his recovery. In March, he shared an Instagram post about undergoing treatment, prompting messages of encouragement from Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber and Kaia.
