LITTLE GUS LAMONT: $1 MILLION REWARD OFFERED AS MISSING BOY’S PARENTS MAKE HEARTBREAKING PLEA ONE YEAR ON

Nearly one year after little Gus Lamont disappeared without a trace, South Australian authorities have announced a $1 million reward for information that could finally help solve the mystery surrounding the missing four-year-old.

Gus disappeared from Oak Park Station, a remote sheep property in South Australia’s outback, on September 27, 2025.

Despite one of the state’s largest missing-person searches, there has still been no confirmed trace of the little boy.

Now, as the anniversary of his disappearance approaches, police and Gus’ parents are making an emotional appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

GUS DISAPPEARED FROM HIS FAMILY’S REMOTE PROPERTY

Gus was last seen playing outside the family’s homestead at around 5 p.m. on September 27, 2025.

About half an hour later, family members realised he was missing.

The four-year-old was described as a blond, curly-haired boy who was adventurous and a good walker.

His disappearance immediately triggered a massive search operation across the remote property.

Police, emergency workers, defence personnel, volunteers, specialist search teams, dogs, drones and aircraft were involved.

Authorities searched enormous areas around Oak Park Station, which covers roughly 60,000 hectares.

ONE OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA’S BIGGEST SEARCHES

Over the following months, investigators repeatedly returned to the property and surrounding areas.

South Australia Police said 11 separate ground searches were conducted over 30 days, alongside extensive aerial searches involving Polair, drones and aircraft equipped with specialist cameras.

Investigators also searched waterways, creeks, wells and bores and examined other areas that had not initially been covered.

But Gus remained missing.

In February 2026, police formally declared the disappearance a major crime.

POLICE SAY THE CASE HAS TAKEN A NEW DIRECTION

Investigators have said they do not believe Gus simply wandered away from the property.

They have also said their investigations have not supported the theory that he was abducted by an unknown person.

Police now believe the possibility of someone known to Gus being involved remains an important focus of the investigation.

One of Gus’ grandparents remains a suspect, according to police. Authorities have not publicly identified that person or disclosed further details about the evidence.

Gus’ parents, Josh Lamont and Jess Murray, are not suspects and have continued to cooperate with investigators.

$1 MILLION REWARD ANNOUNCED

On September 23, South Australian authorities announced a reward of up to $1 million AUD.

The money is being offered for information that leads to the recovery of Gus’ remains and/or the conviction of the person or people responsible for his disappearance.

Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke urged anyone who knows something to contact police.

Investigators have stressed that someone may possess information that could help answer the questions that have remained unresolved for almost a year.

POLICE FOUND ‘ANOMALIES’ IN AERIAL IMAGERY

The latest update also revealed that investigators have been reviewing aerial imagery from the area.

Police said they had identified “some anomalies” in the imagery that were being examined further.

It remains unclear whether those anomalies are connected to Gus’ disappearance.

Authorities have not announced that any new physical evidence has been found.

GUS’ PARENTS MAKE EMOTIONAL PLEA

As the one-year anniversary approaches, Gus’ parents have released an emotional message asking anyone with information to come forward.

His mother, Jess Murray, said the family was approaching an entire year without answers.

She described the continuing uncertainty as devastating, particularly because Gus’ younger brother would never get the chance to grow up alongside him in the way the family had imagined.

Gus’ father, Josh Lamont, also appealed directly to anyone who may know what happened.

The family believes someone knows something about Gus’ disappearance and where he may be.

A FAMILY STILL WAITING FOR ANSWERS

Almost a year after Gus was last seen, the central questions remain unanswered:

Where did Gus go?

What happened to him after he disappeared?

And most importantly, where is he now?

Police say they remain committed to finding answers for Gus and his family.

The $1 million reward marks the latest major development in a case that has gripped South Australia for nearly a year.

For Josh and Jess, however, the search is about much more than solving a case.

It is about finally knowing what happened to their little boy.

“Someone knows something.”

And now, investigators are hoping that person will come forward.
