SIX-YEAR-OLD PRESTON EL GUINDY DIES AFTER FATHER ACCIDENTALLY HITS HIM WITH CYBERTRUCK

A Southern California family is facing an unimaginable loss after six-year-old Preston El Guindy was accidentally struck by his father’s Tesla Cybertruck while it was being backed out of their driveway near Temecula.

The devastating incident happened on Saturday evening, September 19, 2026, turning an ordinary moment outside the family home into a tragedy.

THE FATAL DRIVEWAY ACCIDENT

According to the California Highway Patrol, 48-year-old Tarik El Guindy was reversing the Cybertruck from the family’s driveway shortly before 9 p.m. when the vehicle struck Preston.

The collision occurred in the 43000 block of Brookhaven Court, near Highway 79 in the Temecula area.

Preston suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar.

The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office confirmed that the six-year-old died at 9:41 p.m. on September 19.

His father immediately called 911, and Riverside County Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene.

POLICE SAY THE CRASH APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT

CHP Officer Jesus Garcia told the Los Angeles Times that the information available so far points to an accident and that investigators had found no indication of foul play.

The Cybertruck was not operating in Autopilot mode when the collision occurred, according to the CHP report.

Investigators are continuing to review video from the vehicle and other evidence as they work to establish exactly what happened.

Authorities also said there was no apparent indication that Tarik El Guindy was intoxicated.

No criminal charges have been reported in connection with the incident at this stage.

A FAMILY LEFT HEARTBROKEN

A GoFundMe campaign established to help the family with funeral expenses described Preston as a joyful child who was loved by everyone around him.

The campaign said Preston had been playing outside in his neighborhood before he was struck.

His parents and his sister, Scarlett, are now facing the loss of a six-year-old described by those close to him as a boy who was “always with a smile on his face.”

Preston was also remembered through photographs and videos showing him enjoying baseball.

A FATHER’S DEVASTATING LOSS

Preston’s father, Tarik El Guindy, has been identified by authorities as the driver involved in the crash.

According to the Los Angeles Times, El Guindy is also known in the bodybuilding world as a judge and media personality connected with international competitions, including the Mr. Olympia event.

A public social-media account associated with him includes a collection titled “Preston,” featuring videos of his son playing baseball.

The details have added another painful dimension to a tragedy that unfolded within seconds at the family home.

INVESTIGATION REMAINS OPEN

The CHP investigation remains ongoing.

Officials are reviewing available vehicle footage and other evidence to reconstruct the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has formally recorded Preston’s death and referred questions about the investigation to the California Highway Patrol.

For the El Guindy family, however, the investigation is unfolding alongside an irreversible loss.

A six-year-old boy who had been playing outside his home will not be returning to his family.

And a routine trip out of a driveway has left a family grieving a child whose life was only beginning.
