Gabriel Esdras is a one-year-old boy from Bayeux, Brazil, born with multiple congenital conditions, including turricephaly—a condition that affects the shape and growth of the skull. His mother, Rita de Cássia, first discovered the diagnosis during a routine ultrasound at 22 weeks of pregnancy. Expecting a peaceful checkup, she was instead informed that her baby had significant congenital malformations, news she recalled as completely devastating. Following Gabriel’s birth, Rita gave up her job as a salesperson to provide full-time care for him.
