Cindy Crawford’s Heartbreaking Tribute to Son Presley Gerber Resurfaces After His Death

LOS ANGELES — A message Cindy Crawford shared with her son Presley Gerber just weeks before his death is taking on a heartbreaking meaning as his family mourns his loss.

On July 2, Crawford celebrated Presley’s 27th birthday with a series of photos and a deeply personal message to her only son.

“I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, but I’ll always see you as my little boy!” she wrote, ending the tribute with a message of love.

Presley died on Sept. 20 at age 27 while staying at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, California. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has completed an autopsy, but his official cause of death remains pending further investigation and testing.

His death came after years in which Presley had spoken publicly about mental health and substance-use struggles. In March, he shared his experience with an experimental treatment and wrote about “finding my way back to myself.” Crawford responded to that post by calling her son a “warrior.”

Just months before his death, Presley also appeared publicly with his parents at a June mental-health event in Malibu. He spoke openly about his past struggles and the importance of being honest about what he had experienced.

Now, Crawford’s earlier birthday message has become one of the most poignant public reminders of the bond between mother and son.

Family Plans a Private Memorial

The Gerber family has asked for privacy as they grieve.

People reports that Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber and daughter Kaia Gerber are planning a very intimate memorial for Presley. Sources said the family wants to keep the gathering away from media and paparazzi, with Malibu reportedly being considered because of Presley’s love of surfing and the beach.

That means there may be few public details about the family’s farewell.

Instead, the memories already shared by those who knew Presley are offering glimpses into the person behind the famous family name.

His sister Kaia had previously spoken about Presley’s openness surrounding his struggles, describing him as an “absolute teacher” because of what he was willing to share about his experiences.

For Cindy Crawford, the words she wrote on her son’s birthday now carry a different weight.

She was celebrating the man Presley had become while reminding him of something that never changed:

To his mother, he would always be her little boy.
