CHAD LOWE’S 13-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER FIONA DIES BY SUICIDE — FAMILY REMEMBERS HER AS “THE LIGHT OF OUR LIVES”

The family of actor Chad Lowe is mourning the loss of his 13-year-old daughter, Fiona Lowe, who died on September 29.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has ruled Fiona’s death a suicide. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital at 1:14 a.m. on September 29, according to medical examiner records reported by PEOPLE and other outlets.

Her death was first announced by the Lowe family in a statement shared with PEOPLE.

“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the family said, describing her as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.”

“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.”

The family asked for privacy and prayers as they grieve the loss of their daughter.

Fiona was the second of Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter’s, three daughters.

She was the younger sister of Mabel, 17, and the older sister of Nixie, 10.

Those close to Fiona remembered her as a bright and creative teenager who had many friends and was well-liked at school.

She also loved dancing.

Her father had celebrated her 13th birthday publicly in November 2025, writing a message encouraging his daughter to “keep dancing through life.”

Now, those words have taken on a heartbreaking meaning for the family.

Fiona’s grandfather, Charles “Chuck” Lowe, also paid tribute to his granddaughter after her death.

He shared a photograph of Fiona swimming and wrote a short farewell: “Rest in peace sweet Fiona.”

Friends and relatives have rallied around the Lowe family as they face an unimaginable loss.

Chad Lowe’s brother, actor Rob Lowe, has also been supporting the family, according to reports.

Fiona’s death has deeply affected the school community as well. School officials informed parents and students about the loss and made counseling resources available to anyone who needed support.

A FAMILY THAT HAD ALREADY FACED LOSS

The tragedy comes after the Lowe family endured another devastating event.

In January 2025, the family lost their home in the Palisades wildfire in Los Angeles.

Chad Lowe later shared photographs showing what remained of the home where the family had built their lives.

At the time, he wrote about how difficult the experience had been while expressing gratitude that his family was together.

Months later, the family celebrated Fiona becoming a teenager.

Now, they are facing a loss that cannot be replaced.

“THE LIGHT OF OUR LIVES”

The Lowe family has chosen to remember Fiona not through the circumstances of her death, but through the person she was.

A daughter.

A sister.

A granddaughter.

A dancer.

A creative and loving young girl who was deeply cherished by the people around her.

“She was the light of our lives,” her family said.

That sentence now stands at the center of their farewell to a girl whose life ended far too young.

The family has asked the public to respect their privacy as they mourn.

They also shared information about the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, encouraging anyone struggling with mental health or emotional distress to seek support.

Fiona Lowe was 13 years old.

Her family says she was loved deeply, remembered fondly and will remain forever a part of their lives.
