CJ NEVER LOST HIS SMILE: A VALIANT NINE-MONTH JOURNEY OF LOVE
Born with two severe congenital heart defects—unbalanced atrioventricular septal defect and tetralogy of Fallot—CJ faced extraordinary health challenges from his very first breath. After spending his initial six days fighting in the neonatal intensive care unit, he was finally cleared to go home and join his family. However, his battle against cardiac complications was far from over, requiring constant medical surveillance and incredible strength from his loved ones.

At just seven weeks old, CJ endured a major open-heart surgery designed to improve vital blood flow to his lungs. The complex recovery process brought additional complications, including severe feeding difficulties that made it necessary for him to receive a G-tube to ensure he obtained proper nutrition. Despite spending 39 grueling days in the hospital following his procedure, CJ demonstrated a resilient spirit that captivated everyone around him.

Throughout nine short months of life, CJ filled his family’s hearts with immense joy and unconditional love. No matter how difficult the treatments or hospital stays became, his sweet smile never vanished. He brought irreplaceable light, warmth, and hope into the lives of those who cherished him most, leaving behind memories that will be honored forever.
CJ passed away peacefully wrapped in his mother’s arms, surrounded by pure love and comfort. His story remains a poignant reminder of courage, resilience, and the eternal bond between a child and his family.
