ISAK’S RESILIENT RUN BENEATH THE EIFFEL TOWER

ISAK’S RESILIENT RUN BENEATH THE EIFFEL TOWER
A year after losing his left leg to cancer, eight-year-old Isak achieved a deeply emotional milestone: crossing the finish line of his very first race using a running prosthesis. On October 10, 2026, the young boy from France’s Allier region participated in the children’s event organized ahead of the prestigious 20 km de Paris, completing a one-kilometer course at the Champ-de-Mars directly beneath the Eiffel Tower.

Reaching that starting line was a testament to incredible strength and community support. Following his cancer treatments and subsequent amputation, Isak maintained a strong desire to stay active in sports. However, specialized running blades are often difficult for children to access. Thanks to a loaner blade provided by the organization Hopper, Isak was given the opportunity to run once more. With only about a month to adapt and practice on his new blade, he dedicated himself to preparing for the event.

On race day, Isak ran alongside other children, supported every step of the way by his father, who ran by his side. Crossing the finish line marked a triumphant new chapter after months of hard adjustment following his life-altering surgery. His parents were overcome with pride, and his inspiring journey highlighted the vital importance of giving children access to adaptive sports equipment.
After spending far too much of his childhood fighting a severe illness, Isak finally got to experience a moment of pure joy: standing at a starting line and running freely toward his own finish line.
