A search for a missing 69-year-old woman has ended in tragedy after police discovered a body believed to be that of Dawn, who had not been seen since Tuesday, October 13.
South Yorkshire Police had appealed to the public for help locating Dawn after she disappeared from the Tickhill area of Doncaster. Officers said they were becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare and urged anyone with information to come forward.
Sadly, on Thursday, October 15, police announced that a body had been found and identified as Dawn. Her family has been informed.
An urgent appeal to find Dawn
In their original appeal, police said Dawn was last seen at approximately 10:17 a.m. on October 13.
She was described as white, around 5 feet 2 inches tall, with long red hair. When she was last seen, she was reportedly wearing a large, quilted burgundy coat.
Police said she had last been seen walking in the direction of St Mary’s Crescent in Tickhill.
As the search continued, officers asked members of the public to share the appeal and contact them with any information that could help establish her whereabouts.
