MISSING WYOMING MOTHER OF TWO, 30, FOUND DEAD AFTER PICKUP TRUCK CRASHES DOWN STEEP HILLSIDE

The search for Kandice Gunter has ended in tragedy after authorities found her inside her crashed truck near Lookout Point on Casper Mountain Road. Her two young children are now left without their mother.

A 30-year-old Wyoming mother who had been missing for several days has been found dead after her pickup truck crashed off a mountain road.

Kandice Gunter was discovered Sunday morning, November 1, inside her gray 2016 GMC Canyon after the vehicle broke through a guardrail and went down a steep hillside near Lookout Point on Casper Mountain Road.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at approximately 9:20 a.m. Authorities found Gunter inside the vehicle and pronounced her dead at the scene. She was the only occupant, according to reports citing local authorities.

The Natrona County Coroner’s Office identified Gunter as the driver of the vehicle.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Officials have not yet disclosed what caused the truck to leave the roadway.

HER DISAPPEARANCE SPARKED A DESPERATE SEARCH

Gunter had been reported missing on October 29 after failing to pick up her two children, ages 9 and 6, from the Boys & Girls Club in Casper.

Her sudden disappearance immediately alarmed her family.

Her sister, Kayla Gunter, said the two were extremely close and normally spoke by phone several times a day. Their last conversation took place on the morning of October 29, but Kandice stopped responding afterward.

Kayla described the disappearance as completely out of character for her sister, particularly because she had never failed to collect her children without explanation.

The family contacted authorities and appealed publicly for help finding her.

SHE HAD RECENTLY MOVED TO BE CLOSER TO HER CHILDREN

Kandice had moved from Nevada to Casper about a month before she disappeared, hoping to be closer to her children.

According to her sister, the move appeared to be going well. Kandice was staying in the same household as the children’s father and helping care for them.

Her family said nothing in their last conversation suggested she planned to leave or suddenly cut off contact.

As the search continued, loved ones waited anxiously for news, hoping she would be found safe.

SEARCH ENDS IN HEARTBREAK

That hope was shattered Sunday when authorities located her truck down the hillside.

The discovery brought an end to the missing-person search but left her family facing an unimaginable loss.

Kandice’s two children, just 9 and 6 years old, have lost their mother. Her sister and other loved ones are now left to grieve while investigators work to establish exactly what happened.

Authorities have not announced a cause for the crash, and no further details about the circumstances have been released.

For a family that had spent days hoping for her safe return, the outcome is devastating.

Our thoughts are with Kandice’s children, her sister Kayla and everyone who loved her during this heartbreaking time.
