PART 2: THE SECRET BEHIND THE STALLION

PART 2: THE SECRET BEHIND THE STALLION
Gideon wrapped his coat around Elara and carried her to the shade of a nearby building. The stallion followed every step, refusing to let anyone approach too closely.
When Elara finally opened her eyes, she found Gideon sitting beside her.
“Why did that horse protect me?” she whispered.
Gideon looked toward the animal.
“His name is Thunder. Three years ago, his former owner died trying to break him. Since then, nobody has been able to earn his trust.”
Elara slowly reached out.
Thunder lowered his head into her trembling hand.
Gideon stared in disbelief.
Then Elara revealed something that changed everything.
“His former owner was my father.”
She explained that her father had raised Thunder from a foal. Before his death, he had taught her how to care for the animal. But after losing their ranch, Elara had been forced to leave the valley.
The accuser had recognized her and deliberately framed her, hoping to prevent her from claiming the land her father had left behind.
Gideon turned toward the trembling man.
“You didn’t just steal a knife. You tried to destroy this woman’s life.”
The sheriff arrested him, and the stolen property became the evidence that exposed his lies.
Days later, Gideon discovered that Elara’s father’s ranch still legally belonged to her. He offered to help restore it, asking nothing in return.
Thunder became her constant companion.
And Gideon, who had spent years believing he needed nobody, slowly found himself caring for the woman who had earned the trust of the wildest horse in the valley.
But one evening, while examining an old saddle left by her father, Elara discovered a sealed letter hidden beneath the leather.
Written across the envelope were six words:
“The truth about your father’s death.”
She looked at Gideon, her hands trembling.
Thunder suddenly raised his head and stared toward the distant hills.
Someone was coming.
And the greatest danger in the valley had not yet revealed itself.
