A Young Mother Brought Her 13-Day-Old Baby Home So Family Could Meet Him. Now Loved Ones Are Preparing Two Funerals After a Devastating Texas Crash
A family’s joyful reunion has turned into unimaginable heartbreak.
Seventeen-year-old Alizae “Sukie” Rangel had recently returned to Texas with her newborn son, Ozzy, so relatives in the Midland-Odessa area could finally meet the baby boy who had just entered their world.
Ozzy was only 13 days old.

His family had barely begun holding him, loving him, and dreaming about the life ahead of him. Instead, they are now preparing to say goodbye to both mother and child after a crash at an Odessa intersection that remains under investigation.
According to loved ones, the crash involved two vehicles and left multiple people injured. Sukie and baby Ozzy did not survive.
The pain for this family does not end there. Sukie’s mother, 35-year-old Salena Franco, survived the crash but remains hospitalized with serious injuries. Family members say she suffered severe facial trauma, including injuries near one of her eyes that may permanently affect her vision.
She is expected to undergo major surgery to place a metal plate in her face.
As Salena fights through pain and recovery, she is also facing a grief no parent should ever have to carry: the loss of her daughter, the loss of her grandson, and the memory of being there when everything changed.
Loved ones are now organizing support to help with funeral expenses and medical costs. But above all, they are asking for prayers.

Prayers for Anthony.
Prayers for Salena as she prepares for surgery.
Prayers for a family whose future was shattered in a matter of moments.
