A Mother’s Plea for Baby Aspen Lynn

A Texas mother says she watched her 9-month-old baby’s oxygen level fall to just 3, and in that terrifying moment, she feared she was about to lose her little girl.

Now, Shelby has reached out again, asking for prayers for her daughter, Aspen Lynn.

If you’ve been following Aspen’s journey, you already know this precious baby from Pearland, Texas has been fighting since the very beginning. Born 10 weeks premature, Aspen contracted E. coli meningitis while she was still in the NICU.

That infection changed everything.

It left Aspen facing severe brain damage, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, chronic lung disease, pulmonary stenosis, and a hole in her heart. At one point, Shelby says doctors even warned her that Aspen might only have two weeks left.

But Aspen kept fighting.

Today, she is 9 months old, and her mother says she is still here through faith, strength, and a will to survive that continues to amaze everyone around her.

But now, another major battle remains.

Shelby says Aspen’s hydrocephalus, a dangerous buildup of fluid around the brain, still has not been treated because doctors told the family the surgery she needs is extremely complex.

“As her momma, I refuse to give up on her,” Shelby said. “I will keep fighting for answers, second opinions, and every possible chance at a better future for my baby girl.”

Now, Shelby is trying to get Aspen evaluated by one of the nation’s leading pediatric neurosurgeons, someone who specializes in helping children with hydrocephalus.

Every day is filled with medications, therapy, medical equipment, specialist visits, and the constant care of a medically fragile baby, all while Shelby continues working full time.

She says she is exhausted.

She is overwhelmed.

But she is not giving up.

Shelby says what she needs most right now is prayer.

Pray that the right neurosurgeon says yes.
Pray that a door opens where others have closed.
And pray for baby Aspen Lynn, a little Texas girl who has already shown more courage in 9 months than many people show in a lifetime.
