FROM NICU MONITORS TO MAJOR SURGERIES: BABY EVERETT’S INCREDIBLE FIGHT AFTER BEING BORN WITH RARE FACIAL CONDITION

A baby boy born with a congenital condition affecting his face and hand has already undergone multiple surgeries — yet his parents say he continues to face every challenge with an inspiring smile.
Little Everett spent the first part of his life surrounded by NICU monitors, feeding tubes, and medical equipment after being born with a cleft lip and palate, along with abnormalities affecting one of his hands.

Doctors quickly began intensive treatment to help prepare him for the surgeries he would need in his first year of life.
Now, after already undergoing both lip repair and palate repair surgery, Everett’s family says their little fighter continues to amaze them every single day.

“We were once sitting in the NICU watching him connected to tubes and machines,” his family shared. “Now we’re here, already two surgeries in, and preparing for more in just a few weeks. Through it all, God’s hand has never left us.”
Part of Everett’s treatment includes a process called NAM therapy — a special molding device involving taping, a nose piece, and a purple mouth appliance designed to gradually shape his lip and nose before surgery.

The device also helps him feed more effectively from a bottle while preparing his palate for future procedures.
Doctors say the treatment can significantly improve surgical outcomes by helping align facial structures before operations take place.
Although the equipment can sometimes feel uncomfortable, Everett’s family says he handles it remarkably well.

“The doctors explained it feels similar to wearing a retainer,” they said. “He takes it like a champ.”
Everett also relies on a G-tube, a feeding tube placed directly into his stomach, to ensure he receives the nutrition he needs as he continues recovering and growing stronger.

Despite the long medical journey ahead, his parents say the little boy still enjoys the normal things every baby loves — cuddles, comfort, and being close to the people who adore him most.
“The only pain he really experiences now is normal baby stuff,” they shared. “He’s stronger than we ever imagined.”

Photos documenting Everett’s transformation have touched many online, with supporters praising both his resilience and the unwavering strength of his family.
And while more surgeries still await, those closest to Everett say they no longer focus only on the medical challenges ahead.

Instead, they focus on how far he has already come.
From NICU monitors and sleepless nights to milestones his parents once feared they might never see, baby Everett’s story has become a powerful reminder that even the tiniest fighters can overcome enormous battles.
