South African World Cup Midfielder Jayden Adams Dies at 25

South African international midfielder Jayden Adams has died at the age of 25, just weeks after representing his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The news was confirmed by South Africa’s sports ministry, prompting an outpouring of tributes from across the football world.

Adams featured in all three of South Africa’s group-stage matches during the tournament and helped the national team reach the knockout stage for the first time in its history.
