For most children, running across the playground is something they never have to think about.

For young Tucker, it has always been a dream.

Tucker was born with tetraphocomelia, an extremely rare condition that left him without arms and legs. Doctors have never been able to determine the exact cause, but despite the challenges he has faced since birth, Tucker has grown into a bright, cheerful little boy with an infectious smile and a remarkable determination to enjoy life.

Although he watches his classmates race around the playground, Tucker has never let his condition define who he is. His family says he loves school, enjoys being around other children, and approaches each day with incredible positivity.

Now, they are working toward something that could transform his independence—a specially designed power wheelchair.

The customized wheelchair, which costs around $40,000, would allow Tucker to move on his own for the first time, keeping up with classmates instead of watching from the sidelines.

But obtaining the wheelchair is only part of the journey.

Before Tucker can receive it, his family must also make their home and transportation accessible. They need to build a wheelchair ramp, purchase a van that can be fitted with a wheelchair lift while still accommodating Tucker’s brother and sister, and ensure Tucker completes the training needed to safely operate the chair himself.

Every donation raised has gone toward making that goal possible.

Even then, the wheelchair cannot be approved until the necessary home modifications, transportation, and training are all in place.

His family believes every step brings Tucker closer to a future with greater freedom.

“We dream of the day he can move around on his own,” they shared. “Instead of sitting and happily watching the other children play, he’ll finally be able to chase after them, laugh alongside them, and simply enjoy being a kid.”

For Tucker, the wheelchair is far more than a piece of equipment.

It represents independence, inclusion, and the chance to experience childhood in a way he has always deserved.
