Every afternoon, when the final school bell rings and other children head home to rest, Abdullah follows a different routine. He carries with him not just his schoolbag, but a quiet sense of responsibility far beyond his years.

Because for him, the day isn’t over yet.

Since the war began in Gaza, the streets have changed in countless ways. Among the many heartbreaking sights, Abdullah noticed something others often overlooked—more and more stray dogs and cats wandering alone, hungry, and forgotten. Many had lost their homes, their owners, or any sense of safety.

He couldn’t ignore them.

What started as a simple act of kindness soon became a daily mission.

Together with his father, Abdullah began feeding the animals near his neighborhood. At first, it was just a few. But as time passed, word seemed to spread—not among people, but among the animals themselves. More and more began to gather, waiting quietly, as if they knew help would come.

And it always did.

Nearly three years later, Abdullah and his father are now feeding hundreds of stray animals every single day. No matter the circumstances, no matter how difficult things become around them, they continue to show up.

Rain or shine. Fear or uncertainty. They don’t stop.

But their compassion didn’t end on the streets.

Over time, they rescued 12 cats and brought them into their own home, giving them warmth, safety, and something they may have never known before—a family. These once-frightened animals now live surrounded by care, slowly healing from the harsh lives they once endured.

Still, every day, Abdullah returns to the streets.

And every day, they are waiting.

Dogs wag their tails the moment they see him. Cats gather close, their eyes filled with recognition and trust. To them, Abdullah isn’t just a boy.

He is hope.

In a place where so much feels uncertain, where survival itself can be a daily struggle, Abdullah has become something steady—someone the animals can rely on without question.

His actions may seem small to some, but to those hundreds of lives he touches, they mean everything.

Because sometimes, even in the darkest places, kindness finds a way to show up.

And sometimes, it comes in the form of a boy who refuses to walk past those in need.
