Chicago Man, 21, Accused of Fatally Shooting 2 Teen Girlfriends Around a Year Apart
A 21-year-old man has been accused of killing two of his teenage girlfriends in Chicago. Anthony Nunnally, 21, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of 17-year-old Gabriella Arellano and 19-year-old Sierra Evans, according to ABC 7 Chicago, CBS News and the Chicago Sun-Times.
Prosecutors claimed in court on Wednesday, Aug. 5 that Nunnally shot and killed Arellano in an East Side alley on Oct. 26, 2025 after he thought she would betray him to a rival gang, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. He’s also been accused of shooting and killing Evans just under one year prior, on Sept. 28, 2024.
Prosecutors claimed Nunnally had been a gang member who had dated both girls up until their deaths, which they detailed in court, CBS News reported.

Nunnally and Evans had been dating for about a month when they and two other people, who had all been drinking, headed to a home. An argument then ensued over marijuana, prosecutors said, per CBS News. Nunnally had allegedly gotten angry when Evans didn’t defend him, before choking her and punching a hole in a wall.
Nunnally left, but later returned to the home and witnesses in the area heard gunfire, the outlet reported.
The 21-year-old then told witnesses he’d shot someone, before flashing a gang sign, prosecutors said, per ABC 7 Chicago. Evans’ body was found by a neighbor the next morning with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the outlet.
Several months later, Nunnally allegedly threatened his new girlfriend with Evans’ death, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. He allegedly pulled up a TV news clip of a memorial service for Evans and told her that he would do the same thing to her, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said in court that Nunnally talked about the October 2025 murder of Arellano to a cellmate in jail who had been wearing a wire, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. He reportedly admitted to the killing because she was going to “backdoor” him, which is slang for betraying him with a rival gang, per the outlet.
Prosecutors said surveillance video showed Nunnally, Arellano and a third person at a restaurant before driving back to a witness’ home, per ABC 7 Chicago. Video then showed Nunnally and another man checking the street before returning to a vacant lot and gunfire ringing out.
Arellano’s body was found in the vacant lot with a gunshot to her head, prosecutors said, per the outlet.

Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Mike Pekara said in court, per the Chicago Sun-Times, that Nunnally “was the person last seen with each of these young women before they died.”
“He is a stone-cold killer,” Pekara added, per the outlet. “This is not a scary story, it’s a fact.”
Nunnally, who had been in Cook County Jail on an unrelated carjacking charge, was ordered by a judge to be detained until trial, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
He is due back in court on Aug. 26, ABC 7 Chicago reported.
The Cook County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office didn’t immediately respond when contacted by PEOPLE for additional information.
