MYSTERIOUS TEXTS DEEPEN MYSTERY OF MISSING LAS VEGAS WOMAN AS FAMILY FEARS FOUL PLAY
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — The disappearance of a 63-year-old New York woman in Las Vegas has taken a disturbing turn after her family began receiving mysterious messages from her cellphone asking for help, gas money and bitcoin.
Alisa Goods, a grandmother of five, has been missing since August 8. Her family says the unusual messages have intensified fears that something may have happened to her.
GOODS VANISHED AFTER LEAVING A FRIEND’S APARTMENT
Goods was visiting a friend in Las Vegas and staying at his apartment when she disappeared.
According to PEOPLE, her friend said he last saw her on August 8, when she left the apartment intending to travel by bus to a nearby CVS.
She reportedly planned to purchase iron pills at a CVS near Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue.
But Goods never returned.
Her friend reported her missing on August 10, beginning an investigation that has now stretched beyond a week.
FAMILY RECEIVES STRANGE MESSAGES
The case took an especially troubling turn several days later.
Goods’ relatives say they began receiving messages from her phone on August 12.
The texts reportedly asked for “help, gas money and bitcoin.”
That immediately raised concerns because Goods does not drive, according to her niece Alana Calloway.
Calloway told local media that receiving a request for gas money made her fear that her aunt could have been taken against her will.
Goods’ son, Keven Newton, also said he received unusual messages from the phone.
“Just give my mother back,” Newton said, according to the report.
Authorities have not publicly confirmed who sent the messages or whether Goods herself wrote them.
FAMILY DESPERATE FOR ANSWERS
Goods’ daughter, Kristen Goods, said she is struggling with the uncertainty surrounding her mother’s disappearance.
She told CBS News that she is hoping for the best but fears what may have happened.
For the family, the unexplained texts have only made the situation more frightening.
The messages could potentially provide investigators with a lead, but without confirming who sent them, their significance remains unclear.
A WOMAN HER FAMILY SAYS WOULD NEVER SIMPLY VANISH
Those who know Goods describe her as warm, outgoing and deeply loved by the people around her.
Her niece called her a “superstar” and said people naturally gravitated toward her.
A longtime friend also described Goods as one of the nicest people he knew.
Now, her loved ones are left trying to understand how a woman who was simply supposed to make a short trip to a nearby CVS could disappear without explanation.
POLICE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating Goods’ disappearance.
At this point, authorities have not publicly confirmed that she has been abducted or that foul play occurred.
The mysterious cellphone messages remain one of the most significant unanswered questions.
Who is sending the messages? Where is Alisa Goods? And why would someone using her phone be asking her family for money and cryptocurrency?
Until investigators can answer those questions, Goods’ family remains trapped in a painful wait for information about the grandmother who disappeared after an ordinary trip that never ended as expected.
