Three months after Kyle Busch’s death, Samantha Busch is finding that grief lives not only in the biggest memories, but in the ordinary moments that once made up their life together.

On Friday, Aug. 21, Samantha marked three months since the NASCAR champion died at 41 by sharing a deeply personal collection of photographs from their years together. Rather than focusing on his accomplishments on the racetrack, her posts centered on the husband and father she knew away from the spotlight — traveling with his family, coaching his son, laughing with his wife and showing a softer side with his young daughter.

“I still can’t believe it’s been three months without you,” Samantha wrote alongside one image of the couple.

What followed was a series of memories that revealed just how many pieces of everyday life changed when Kyle died on May 21.

Missing the Life They Built as a Family

One of Samantha’s most emotional reflections was also one of the simplest.

She shared a photograph of herself, Kyle and their children, 11-year-old Brexton and 4-year-old Lennix, together at Champion Ranch in Texas.

Over the family image, Samantha wrote that she missed “doing life as a family.”

He had been hospitalized with severe pneumonia, which later progressed into sepsis.

In the months since his death, Samantha has repeatedly given glimpses into the reality of grieving while continuing to care for their children and move through a home filled with reminders of the life they once shared.

Her Aug. 21 tribute was not the first time she had described that loss publicly.

Nearly a month earlier, on July 26, Samantha wrote about what happens after the activity of the day disappears and the house becomes quiet.

She said evenings were particularly difficult once the children went to bed.

Without them awake to occupy the house, she described the silence and loneliness as almost unbearable. She found herself pacing through the home and thinking about memories of Kyle.

The nighttime routine they once shared had become another painful reminder that he was gone.

A Shirt, a Pillow and the Reality of Grief

One detail from Samantha’s July message offered an especially intimate look at those nights.

She explained that she continued sleeping on her side of the bed with a body pillow and one of Kyle’s shirts, imagining that he was still beside her.
