SEVEN-YEAR-OLD RYDER HAS ENDURED OVER 150 SURGERIES YET CONTINUES TO DISPLAY REMARKABLE COURAGE AND STRENGTH EVERY SINGLE DAY
At just seven years old, Ryder Hamrick has endured a medical journey filled with more adversity than most people face in an entire lifetime. Born five weeks prematurely via an emergency C-section, Ryder entered the world facing an immediate and critical fight for survival. Medical professionals had to perform CPR and intubate the newborn for twenty agonizing minutes just to stabilize his condition. From those first crucial moments, doctors were uncertain of what his future might hold, but Ryder quickly began demonstrating an extraordinary resilience that continues to amaze his family and medical team today.

Ryder was diagnosed with a rare condition characterized by severe lymphatic malformations. Large cysts formed throughout his body, creating immense challenges for essential daily functions such as breathing and swallowing. To help manage his airway and meet his basic nutritional needs, Ryder relies on a tracheostomy and a feeding tube as permanent parts of his daily care routine. Over the course of his young life, he has undergone more than 150 complex surgeries to manage his symptoms and keep his airways open.

Despite spending a vast portion of his childhood inside hospital walls and undergoing endless procedures, Ryder’s spirit remains unyielding. Every new day brings a fresh battle, yet this brave young boy consistently overcomes the odds with inspiring determination, continually surprising everyone around him with his incredible strength, warmth, and relentless will to keep moving forward.
