RASHOD BATEMAN ARRESTED: BABY WAS INSIDE THE CAR DURING ALLEGED FAMILY VIOLENCE INCIDENT

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman is facing criminal charges after an alleged family violence incident in Georgia involving the mother of his child and their 3-month-old baby.

According to court documents reported by PEOPLE and other outlets, the incident happened around 6 a.m. on June 3, 2026, in Walton County, Georgia. Bateman later surrendered to authorities the same day.

WHAT POLICE SAY HAPPENED

According to the charging documents, Bateman allegedly used an object to smash the windshield and driver’s-side window of a vehicle belonging to the mother of his child while she and their infant were inside.

Police reported seeing small cuts and bruises on the woman’s face.

The baby was reportedly seated in a car seat behind the driver. Investigators said they found glass in the infant’s hair and car seat following the incident.

Authorities also allege Bateman used a screwdriver in an attempt to puncture one of the vehicle’s tires.

THREE CHARGES

Bateman faces charges including:

• Family violence battery
• Reckless conduct
• First-degree criminal damage to property

The property-damage allegation is a felony, while the other charges are misdemeanors under the reported charging documents.

The allegations have not been proven in court, and Bateman is presumed innocent unless convicted.

THE BABY’S PRESENCE COULD BECOME IMPORTANT

The fact that the infant was reportedly inside the vehicle has drawn particular attention.

THE NO-CONTACT ORDER WAS LATER MODIFIED

A no-contact order initially applied to Bateman was later modified after Bateman and the child’s mother requested that they be allowed to communicate.

According to court records reported by The Baltimore Banner, the conditions were changed from “no contact” to “no violent contact” after Bateman completes a family-violence intervention program.

 BATEMAN’S ATTORNEY PUSHES BACK

Bateman’s attorney, Jordan Siev, said the family situation had been taken out of context for sensational reasons and urged people to allow the court process to determine the facts.

That response comes as the case receives widespread attention because Bateman is an established NFL player and the alleged incident involved his infant child.
