BROOKE HANLON’S HUSBAND BREAKS HIS SILENCE — THE MYSTERY OF THE UNSOLVED NEW JERSEY HOMICIDE

Nearly three months after 35-year-old Brooke Hanlon was found fatally stabbed inside her Chester, New Jersey, home, her husband, James “Conor” Hanlon, has spoken publicly for the first time.

“My heart is totally shattered,” Conor told the Daily Mail, describing his wife’s killing as a tragedy. When asked about online rumors suggesting he was involved, he rejected them.

Conor discovered Brooke inside their home on June 6 and attempted CPR before emergency responders arrived.

A 911 call obtained by PEOPLE captured the frantic aftermath as he reported that his wife was unresponsive and not breathing. Brooke had suffered multiple sharp-force injuries.

Yet nearly three months later, authorities still have not publicly identified a suspect or person of interest.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office has never publicly accused Conor of involvement, and there is no public evidence establishing that he committed the crime.

A YOUNG MOTHER GONE WITHOUT ANSWERS

Brooke was a licensed psychotherapist and new mother. She and Conor welcomed their daughter, Avery, in July 2025, less than a year before Brooke was killed.

The couple had purchased their Chester home in 2024 after previously living in Boston, where they met while Brooke was studying at Northeastern University.

Brooke’s family and friends have continued to mourn her while investigators work to determine who entered the home and what happened that afternoon.

The killing occurred in broad daylight in a quiet New Jersey community, yet investigators have still not announced an arrest.

That has fueled speculation online, particularly surrounding the people closest to Brooke.

But speculation is not evidence.

No suspect has been publicly named, and no official statement has connected Conor Hanlon to Brooke’s killing.

The central questions remain:

Who killed Brooke Hanlon?

How did the attacker enter the home?

And why has the investigation produced no publicly identified suspect nearly three months later?

For now, Brooke’s case remains an active, unsolved homicide — and investigators are still searching for the evidence that could finally explain what happened.
