ALISA GOODS: SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE CAPTURES THE FINAL MOMENTS OF A MISSING GRANDMOTHER

For 12 agonizing days, the family of 63-year-old Alisa Goods had no idea where she was.

The Manhattan grandmother had traveled to Las Vegas to visit a longtime friend. On August 8, she left the apartment to go shopping — and never returned.

Now, investigators say newly reviewed surveillance footage may have answered one of the biggest questions surrounding her disappearance.

But it has also made the tragedy even more heartbreaking.

According to police, surveillance video from August 8 shows Goods near Harry Reid International Airport.

The footage reportedly captured her falling down an embankment.

She managed to get back up.

Then she collapsed again.

Police said there was no further movement visible after that point.

The location was concealed from the roadway, meaning people passing nearby would not necessarily have been able to see her.

Nearly two weeks later, on August 20, authorities discovered her body in a drainage ditch near the airport.

Before investigators located Goods, her family was confronted with another mystery.

Her phone had apparently been used after she disappeared.

Relatives received messages requesting money and even Bitcoin, leading them to fear that someone else had access to her device.

Her family reportedly noticed details that did not sound like Alisa, increasing their concern as the search continued.

Those messages became one of the most troubling elements of the investigation.

But authorities have not publicly established who sent them or whether they were connected to what ultimately happened to Goods.

 WHY WASN’T SHE FOUND SOONER?

One of the most haunting details is the location where she was discovered.

Police said the drainage area was not visible from the nearby roadway.

That could help explain why searches conducted during the days after her disappearance did not immediately locate her.

Goods had also undergone multiple leg surgeries, according to reporting, and her family had been particularly concerned about her ability to move around independently.

THE CAUSE OF DEATH REMAINS UNKNOWN

The surveillance footage provides a possible timeline of Goods’ final moments, but it does not establish why she collapsed.

Her official cause and manner of death remain under investigation.

That distinction is important.

At this point, the publicly available evidence does not establish that another person caused her death.

Investigators and the medical examiner will have to determine what happened after examining the available evidence.

 THE TIMELINE

The known sequence is now becoming clearer:

August 8: Goods leaves her friend’s residence to go shopping.

Later that day: Surveillance footage captures a woman believed to be Goods near the airport.

She falls down an embankment, gets back up, then collapses again.

During the broader search, suspicious messages are sent from her phone.

August 20: Authorities discover Goods in a drainage ditch near Harry Reid International Airport.

Her family finally receives the devastating confirmation they had feared.

A FAMILY’S SEARCH ENDS IN HEARTBREAK

Goods was a mother and grandmother whose disappearance sparked an increasingly desperate search across Las Vegas.

Her longtime friend, Roger John, who had known her for years, helped search for her and was not considered a suspect, according to reporting.

Her relatives are now left with a different kind of uncertainty.

They know where Alisa was found.

They have seen the footage showing her final movements.

But they still need to know why she collapsed and what happened in those final moments.

The surveillance footage may have solved the mystery of where Alisa Goods went after leaving that morning.

Now investigators must determine what happened after the camera captured her final movement.

Her family’s search is over. Their search for answers is not.
