Jenny Lupton, 50, a Southwest Airlines flight attendant from Moore, Oklahoma, was found dead outside the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Waikiki while in Hawaii on a layover.

Lupton was discovered on August 20, 2026, near a trash collection area below the hotel. According to her family, the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office indicated that she appeared to have fallen from the balcony of her 24th-floor hotel room.

Honolulu police have opened an investigation into the unwitnessed death as authorities work to determine exactly what happened.

The official cause and manner of death have not yet been released, and investigators have not publicly indicated whether foul play was involved.

Lupton’s death has left her family, friends, and colleagues mourning a woman who was in Hawaii during what was supposed to be a routine work layover.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities await additional findings from the medical examiner and continue examining the circumstances surrounding her death.
