Where Is Mica Miller’s Family Now? Inside Their Lives After Her Death

Mica Miller‘s family is continuing to preserve her memory more than two years after her death.
The 30-year-old South Carolina worship leader died by suicide in April 2024, the same month she accused her estranged husband, pastor John-Paul Miller, of abusing her “emotionally, sexually, spiritually, financially, and physically” in an affidavit for her second divorce filing, per Tudum.

In December 2025, John-Paul was indicted on federal charges of cyberstalking his estranged wife and making false statements to federal investigators about damaging her tires. WPDE reported that he remains free on bond awaiting trial, which is set to start in October 2026. He faces up to five years in prison for cyberstalking and two years in prison for his false statements.
Though he has denied the allegations, Mica’s family have continued to speak out, including in the Netflix docuseries Death of the Pastor’s Wife, and advocate for legislation to criminalize coercive control in South Carolina.

Days after Mica died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in April 2024, Sierra filed to be appointed the special administrator of her estate, The Sun News reported.
John-Paul told NewsNation in July 2024 that he was at a soccer tournament for his kids’ school in Charleston, S.C., at the time of Mica’s death, which was ruled a suicide. He has denied having any involvement in her death.
That same month, Sierra withdrew her request to control her sister’s estate and the family settled with John-Paul. Though the terms were sealed, News13 reported that the agreement meant he wouldn’t face any civil wrongful death claims tied to Mica’s suicide.
