A British teenager has died after suffering devastating injuries in a boat incident during a family holiday in the Dominican Republic.

Abigail “Abbie” Lainton, 16, from Swindon, was on a tourist boat returning from Saona Island when the vessel suddenly erupted into flames on July 27.

What should have been a day of holiday memories quickly turned into a desperate fight for survival.
