Bank of America Vice President Erin Piacenti, 32, Fatally Stabbed in Random New York City Attack

Erin Piacenti, a 32-year-old Bank of America Vice President from Chester, New Jersey, was fatally stabbed in what the NYPD described as a random and unprovoked attack on the afternoon of August 31, 2026.

Piacenti had recently returned to work after maternity leave, making the tragedy even more heartbreaking. According to ABC News, the attack occurred on what was reportedly her first day back on the job after giving birth to her daughter approximately five months earlier.

A 68-year-old man was also stabbed during the same incident but survived his injuries.

Police identified the suspect as Pamela Cisneros, 49. After allegedly stabbing the two victims, Cisneros reportedly confronted responding police officers. Officers opened fire, and Cisneros was fatally shot.

The NYPD described the attack as random and unprovoked, with no indication that the victims were specifically targeted.

Bank of America confirmed Piacenti’s employment with the company and said she held the position of Vice President. Her death has left colleagues and those who knew her mourning the loss of a young professional and mother whose return to work ended in unimaginable tragedy.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
