According to authorities, Vaughn became caught in a conveyor belt at the site and could not be saved.

Emergency crews were called to the gravel pit at approximately 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, after reports of an industrial accident.

Twin Falls County deputies and members of the Rock Creek Fire Department responded to the location at 2950 North 3500 East.

When emergency personnel arrived, Vaughn was found involved in the conveyor-belt accident.

Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.
