HE WENT TO WORK AND NEVER CAME HOME: 27-YEAR-OLD IDAHO FATHER LOST IN GRAVEL PIT ACCIDENT

A routine workday turned into a devastating tragedy for a 27-year-old Idaho father.

Seth Vaughn of Twin Falls was working at a gravel pit Wednesday afternoon when he became caught in a conveyor belt, according to authorities.

Twin Falls County deputies and the Rock Creek Fire Department were dispatched to the site at approximately 4:20 p.m. Sept. 2.

The incident occurred at a gravel pit located at 2950 North 3500 East in Twin Falls County.

When emergency crews arrived, Vaughn was pronounced dead at the scene.

A YOUNG FAMILY LEFT BEHIND

Vaughn’s passing has left his wife, Gentry, and their two young daughters facing an unimaginable loss.

A family member has organized a fundraiser to help the family cope with the financial challenges that now accompany their grief.

According to the fundraiser, Vaughn was the primary source of income for the household.

His sudden loss has therefore created not only profound emotional pain, but also uncertainty about how the family will manage financially in the weeks and months ahead.

The fundraiser is intended to provide Gentry and her daughters with some financial stability as they navigate this difficult new chapter.

THE ACCIDENT

Authorities said Vaughn became caught in the conveyor belt at the gravel pit.

Emergency crews responded shortly after the incident was reported, but Vaughn could not be saved.
