An Oklahoma couple is accused of leaving their three young children home alone so they could go play pickleball.

According to a statement from the Glenpool Police Department, Andrew Dick and Feather Roberts were arrested on Aug. 30 on allegations of child neglect after officers found the children, ages 8, 5, and 1, home without adult supervision.

Authorities said someone called 911 to report they suspected the kids were left alone in the residence. That caller then called Roberts, who allegedly stated that she and Dick were playing pickleball at a court in Bixby, about 20 minutes away. Roberts also indicated the children were with sitters, per the statement.

The caller went to the residence and discovered the children were alone, according to the statement. Authorities responded and found the 8 and 5-year-old children were watching television while the 1-year-old was asleep.

When Roberts and Dick returned to the home, officers asked the parents how the children could contact them in the event of an emergency. Roberts allegedly stated the children had access to an iPad they could use to call them.

Authorities allege that during the investigation, they discovered this wasn’t the first time the couple had left the children home unsupervised.

Officers also learned, per the statement, that the parents have a fourth child — an infant — for whom childcare had been arranged.

All children were “found safe and in good health” according to police. The Oklahoma Department of Human Services was notified following the arrests.

Roberts and Dick both face three counts of child neglect.
