School Bus Involved in Five-Vehicle Crash; 12 Children Taken to Hospital

A five-vehicle collision involving a school bus, two dump trucks and two cars sent 12 children and two adults to the hospital Thursday afternoon, but fortunately no fatalities were reported.

The crash occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on September 3, 2026, when one of the dump trucks reportedly failed to stop in time and struck the vehicle in front of it. The impact triggered a chain-reaction collision involving the other vehicles, including the elementary school bus.

School Bus Carrying Nine Students

The bus was transporting nine students from Oak Knoll Elementary School along with two adults when it became involved in the crash.

Another vehicle involved in the collision was reportedly carrying three children.

A total of 12 children and two adults were transported to a hospital for evaluation or treatment following the accident.

No Life-Threatening Injuries Reported

Despite the severity of the multi-vehicle collision, authorities reported that there were no fatalities.

All of those injured have either been released from the hospital or remain in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, including why the dump truck was unable to stop before striking the vehicle ahead of it.

The incident could have had a far more devastating outcome, but the fact that everyone survived has brought relief to the families and school community involved.
