BABY S WAS JUST A NEWBORN — AND NOW THE NUMBER OF WOUNDS FOUND ON HER TINY BODY HAS BEEN REVEALED IN COURT

She had only just entered the world.

But within hours, Baby S was dead — and a Sheffield courtroom has now heard the horrifying extent of the injuries suffered by the newborn.

Prosecutors told the court that the baby suffered 33 wounds in 15 separate stabbings, with injuries recorded to her face and torso, including the front and back of her body.

And the details did not end there.

HER BODY WAS FOUND HIDDEN IN AN OUTBUILDING

Baby S was discovered inside an outbuilding at a property in Sheffield’s Wincobank area.

According to the prosecution case, the newborn had been wrapped in a towel, placed inside a blue bag and left on top of a washing machine.

A forensic post-mortem later identified stab wounds as the cause of death.

The circumstances surrounding what happened inside the property are now at the center of a major murder investigation.

FIVE PEOPLE ARE NOW IN CUSTODY

Baby S’s mother, Andrea Skopova, 20, is among four adults charged with murder.

Also charged are Peter Horvath Jr., 19, Peter Horvath Sr., 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37.

The four adults face additional allegations of causing or allowing the death of a child and perverting the course of justice by taking steps to conceal the killing of the infant.

A 15-year-old girl has separately been charged with perverting the course of justice. She cannot legally be named.

All five have been remanded in custody.

THE CASE HAS NOW MOVED TOWARD TRIAL

The four adults appeared at Sheffield Crown Court alongside the teenage defendant.

A trial has been scheduled to begin on April 12, 2027, and is expected to last six to seven weeks. Investigators have also recovered a potential weapon and are examining CCTV as part of the continuing investigation.

Two other women, aged 26 and 37, who were initially arrested on suspicion of murder remain on bail.

Police have urged the public not to speculate or share information online that could interfere with the legal proceedings.

For now, the allegations heard in court remain just that — allegations. None of the defendants has been convicted.

But one fact is already impossible to ignore:

Baby S was only a newborn.

And the courtroom revelations about the final hours of her life have left a community asking how something so horrific could happen — and why it took so long for the full picture to emerge.
