For days, people across Suffolk searched for little Noah Woods.

They searched fields.

They searched roads.

They searched around the water.

More than 1,000 members of the public joined the desperate effort to find the missing 3-year-old.

But the search ended in heartbreaking circumstances.

Noah’s body was recovered from Decoy Pond in Brantham after specialist police divers were brought into the operation.

Police later formally identified the child as Noah.

Now his father, Rhys Woods, has shared a devastating tribute to his little boy.

“THE SWEETEST AND MOST INNOCENT LITTLE BOY”

Rhys described Noah as “the sweetest and most innocent little boy.”

He thanked the people who searched for his son, including members of the public and emergency crews who spent hours looking for him.

For Noah’s family, the final days had been filled with hope, fear and uncertainty.

Then came the news every parent was dreading.

Their little boy would not be coming home.

THE LAST KNOWN SIGHTING

Noah disappeared in Brantham, Suffolk, on Tuesday, September 15.

Police said he had been at a playground on Merriam Close when he became separated from a relative.

CCTV captured Noah at approximately 2:37 p.m.

He was wearing a white Bluey T-shirt, shorts and black Vans trainers.

Investigators said he then ran down an alleyway beside the playground toward a nearby housing development and the area around Decoy Pond.

Within hours, a huge search operation was underway.

AN ENTIRE COMMUNITY LOOKED FOR HIM

Police officers were joined by specialist search teams, dog units, the National Police Air Service, firefighters, coastguards and specialist divers.

Members of the public also turned out in extraordinary numbers.

Approximately 1,300 people joined the search.

They searched through areas surrounding Brantham, hoping that somewhere, somehow, Noah would be found alive.

But on Wednesday, September 16, specialist divers recovered the body of a child from Decoy Pond.

The discovery brought the search to its tragic end.

POLICE SAY NOAH’S DEATH IS NOT BEING TREATED AS SUSPICIOUS

Suffolk Police have said Noah’s death is not being treated as suspicious, although the circumstances remained unexplained while inquiries continued.

His identification was later formally confirmed, subject to the inquest process.

There has been no public indication that another person is responsible for Noah’s death.

For his family, however, the investigation is now secondary to an unimaginable loss.

A FATHER’S FINAL MESSAGE

Rhys Woods thanked everyone who had searched for his son and remembered Noah not as a missing-child case, but as his little boy.

A child who was loved.

A child whose family expected to watch him grow up.

A child whose disappearance brought thousands of strangers together.
