CHILD DIES AFTER HORROR STABBING IN CAR AS TWO SIBLINGS AND WOMAN FIGHT FOR THEIR LIVES

A young child has died and two siblings are fighting for their lives after three children and a woman were found suffering serious stab wounds inside a car in Australia’s Blue Mountains.

Emergency services were called to Waratah Road in Valley Heights, New South Wales, at around lunchtime on Sunday after a cyclist discovered the group inside a vehicle.

Members of the public immediately began performing first aid while emergency services were contacted.

Despite efforts to save the children, one child died at the scene.

The other two children, both believed to be under five years old, were rushed to hospital in critical condition. A woman, believed to be in her 40s, was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

THREE CHILDREN WERE SIBLINGS

Police later confirmed that the three children were siblings.

The two surviving children were transported to hospitals in the Westmead area for emergency treatment.

Local reports said the children were aged between approximately six months and four years.

The woman was also in a critical condition, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding the injuries. Authorities have not publicly confirmed her relationship to the children, although police have confirmed that the children’s father was contacted and informed of the tragedy.

Superintendent John Nelson described the incident as “traumatic and tragic”, particularly for the members of the public who came across the scene and attempted to help.

He said the children’s father had been at work when he received the devastating news.

POLICE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR ANOTHER SUSPECT

Police have not announced that they are searching for another person in connection with the incident.

Investigators are continuing to examine what happened inside the vehicle and how the four people sustained their injuries.

Police said the woman was not previously known to them.

Authorities are also investigating whether the incident may be connected to domestic violence. Superintendent Nelson noted that it came during an especially difficult weekend for the area, with the incident potentially being the fourth death linked to domestic violence.

The circumstances remain under investigation, and police have urged anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who may have relevant footage to come forward.

A COMMUNITY LEFT IN SHOCK

The incident has left residents of the normally quiet Blue Mountains community deeply shaken.

One local resident told reporters they were shocked and devastated, saying incidents of this nature were not something they expected to happen in their neighbourhood.

For investigators, the focus now remains on establishing exactly what happened before the woman and three children were discovered in the car.

One child has lost their life, while two siblings remain in critical condition as the investigation continues.
