New Jersey Hairdresser Accused of Trying to Hire Hitman to Kill Ex-Boyfriend and His Daughter

Jaclyn Diiorio, a 28-year-old hairdresser from Runnemede, New Jersey, has been indicted by federal prosecutors over an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting her former boyfriend and his teenage daughter.

According to the federal indictment, Diiorio allegedly attempted to hire someone through Tinder to kill her ex-boyfriend, a 53-year-old Philadelphia police officer, as well as his 19-year-old daughter.

However, the person Diiorio allegedly believed was a hitman was actually a confidential informant working with law enforcement.

Prosecutors allege that Diiorio agreed to pay approximately $12,000 for the killings and handed over a $500 down payment on April 4, 2025. She was arrested after allegedly giving the money to the person she believed had agreed to carry out the murders.

On September 9, 2026, federal prosecutors announced an indictment charging Diiorio with two counts related to the use of interstate commerce facilities in an alleged murder-for-hire scheme.

Diiorio’s attorney has said she intends to plead not guilty. The defense is also expected to raise the issue of entrapment, arguing that law enforcement may have improperly induced her to commit a crime she otherwise would not have committed.

If convicted, Diiorio could face up to 20 years in federal prison.

A detention hearing is scheduled for September 14, 2026, as the federal case moves forward.

The charges contained in the indictment are allegations only. Diiorio is presumed innocent unless and until she is proven guilty in court.
