BRIDE-TO-BE, 21, AND GROOM, 25, KILLED IN CRASH JUST HOURS BEFORE THEIR WEDDING

A young couple preparing to finally say “I do” were killed in a devastating road crash just hours before their wedding ceremony in Guatemala.

Daniel Grande, 25, and his fiancée Angelica Garcia, 21, died after a horrific six-vehicle collision in the Masagua area on Saturday, according to reports.

The couple had been together for around three years and became engaged last year. Their wedding was scheduled for 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Instead, their families were preparing for a funeral.

THEY WERE MAKING LAST-MINUTE WEDDING PREPARATIONS

Daniel and Angelica had reportedly travelled together on two motorcycles to Masagua to make some final purchases ahead of their wedding.

But while they were returning, the motorcycles became involved in a collision involving another motorcycle, two light vehicles and a heavy truck carrying fuel.

Firefighters rushed to the scene after the devastating crash.

Daniel could not be saved.

Angelica was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but she later died.

A total of three people were killed in the six-vehicle collision, while another three people were reportedly taken to Escuintla National Hospital in critical condition.

JUST HOURS BEFORE THEIR WEDDING

The timing made the tragedy even more heartbreaking.

Daniel had reportedly shared a love poem dedicated to Angelica on social media shortly before the crash.

The couple had been looking forward to beginning their married life together after years as a couple.

Instead, their wedding day became a day of mourning.

Daniel’s mother, Luz Amanda Bran Orantes, said the family had been expecting the couple to marry at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

“They were going to get married at 3pm on Sunday and it never happened.”

THEIR FAMILIES RECREATED THE WEDDING AT THEIR FUNERAL

In an emotional tribute, relatives decided to recreate parts of the wedding ceremony the couple never got to have.

Angelica was buried wearing the white wedding dress she had planned to wear for her wedding.

Daniel was dressed in the beige suit he had intended to wear as her groom.

Their coffins were carried beneath an arch decorated with white flowers, while two bridesmaids in pink carried their wedding rings and placed them on the coffins.

The funeral procession then made its way to a cemetery in Masagua, close to the church where the couple had been due to marry.

A WEDDING THAT NEVER HAPPENED

For their families, the images from the funeral became a heartbreaking reflection of the wedding that should have taken place.

Instead of photographs of Daniel and Angelica exchanging vows, their loved ones gathered around their coffins.

Instead of celebrating a new chapter in their lives, the families were saying goodbye.

The couple’s deaths have left relatives and friends mourning a future that had been only hours away.

Their story has since drawn attention because of the extraordinary timing — a young couple killed on the eve of the wedding they had spent years preparing for.

The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
