BRITISH EXPAT ANTON GREEN, 43, VANISHES IN COLOMBIA AS FAMILY BEGS FOR ANSWERS AFTER WEEKS OF SILENCE

A British man living in Colombia has vanished without a trace, leaving his family desperately searching for answers after more than six weeks without contact.

Anton Green, 43, originally from Manchester, moved to South America around three years ago after falling in love with Colombia and its culture.

But his family says they have heard nothing from him since August 5, 2026 — a sudden silence they describe as completely out of character.

His sister has now made an emotional public appeal for information as concerns continue to grow over his whereabouts.

LAST CONTACT WAS MORE THAN SIX WEEKS AGO

Anton was last heard from on August 5.

According to his family, the 43-year-old had been living in Colombia since 2023 and was fluent in Spanish.

He had been staying around the Fontibón and Mesitas del Colegio areas before he disappeared.

His sister, Sian Tuohey, 40, said the family was becoming increasingly concerned because Anton had suddenly stopped communicating with them.

She described the lack of contact as deeply unusual for her brother.

In a social media appeal, Sian wrote that Anton had been missing for six weeks and urged anyone who might have spoken to him before his disappearance to contact authorities.

FAMILY FEARS FOR HIS SAFETY

Sian said Anton had experienced mental-health difficulties around the same time the previous year.

She also said he may have been considering travelling to neighbouring Ecuador before contact was lost.

However, there is currently no confirmed information showing that Anton travelled to Ecuador or explaining where he may have gone.

The family is appealing for information that could help establish his movements after August 5.

Sian said the family had been waiting for answers for 49 days and criticised what she described as a lack of urgency from Colombian authorities.

“We need Anton found!” she wrote in her appeal.

WHAT ANTON LOOKS LIKE

The missing British man is described as approximately 5ft 6in tall, with dark skin and short afro-style hair.

His family has shared photographs in an effort to increase public awareness of the search.

Anyone who may have seen Anton or spoken to him around the time of his disappearance is being urged to come forward.

His ability to speak fluent Spanish means he may have been able to move comfortably within local communities, but investigators have not publicly confirmed where he may have travelled.

BRITISH AUTHORITIES ARE SUPPORTING THE FAMILY

The UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has confirmed that it is aware of the case.

A spokesperson told The Sun:

“We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Colombia and are in touch with local authorities.”

No further details about the investigation have been publicly released.

There has also been no official confirmation that Anton has been the victim of a crime.

At this stage, his whereabouts remain unknown.
