MUM AND THREE CHILDREN KI//ED IN DEVASTATING HOUSE FIRE AS FAMILY PAYS HEARTBREAKING TRIBUTE

A mother and her three children have died in a devastating house fire in Bootle, Merseyside, leaving their family and local community “heartbroken”.

Elisha Brabin, 36, died alongside her children Leo Brabin, 16, Ellis Brabin, 8, and Prudence Brabin, 7, after a fire broke out at their home on Stone Square in the early hours of Tuesday, September 22.

The four were later formally identified by police.

FIREFIGHTERS RUSHED TO THE SCENE

Emergency crews were called to the semi-detached property at around 3.38am, arriving approximately seven minutes later.

The fire service said the blaze was already intense and had spread rapidly.

At the height of the emergency, six fire engines were at the scene, while eight firefighters entered the property to search for people and tackle the flames.

Four casualties were discovered in an upstairs bedroom.

Sadly, they were showing no signs of life and were later confirmed dead.

A fifth person was found outside the property and was taken to hospital suffering from burns.

FAMILY REMEMBERS “BEAUTIFUL” CHILDREN

The family of Elisha, Leo, Ellis and Prudence released an emotional tribute on Wednesday.

They described Elisha as a “devoted and loving mother” who “lived for her children”.

The children, meanwhile, were remembered as being deeply loved and as bringing “laughter and precious memories” to the family.

The family said the loss had left them devastated and that the impact would be felt forever.

They also asked for privacy while they grieve and thanked members of the public for their kindness and support.

NEIGHBOURS DESCRIBE DESPERATE ATTEMPTS TO HELP

The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the Stone Square community.

Neighbours described hearing shouting and seeing smoke and flames during the early-morning emergency.

Some residents reportedly tried to help before firefighters arrived, but the intensity of the blaze made it impossible to reach everyone inside.

Flowers, soft toys, candles and balloons were later left near the scene as people paid tribute to the family.

CAUSE OF FIRE REMAINS UNKNOWN

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Merseyside Police are conducting a joint investigation into what caused the blaze.

Authorities have not yet established the cause, and no conclusion should be drawn about how the fire started while that investigation remains ongoing.

For those who knew the family, the focus now is on remembering Elisha, Leo, Ellis and Prudence and supporting their loved ones through an unimaginable loss.

The family said they had been “taken from us far too soon.”
