PRESLEY GERBER DIES AT 27 AS FAMILY FACES HEARTBREAK AFTER SUSPECTED OVERDOSE INVESTIGATION

CINDY CRAWFORD AND RANDE GERBER’S SON DIED AT A REHABILITATION FACILITY IN SANTA MONICA

Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27.

Gerber died on Sept. 20, 2026, at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica, California, according to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

His death is being investigated by Santa Monica police as a suspected overdose, although authorities have stressed that the official cause and manner of death have not yet been determined. Police have also said there is currently no indication of foul play.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner completed an autopsy on Sept. 21, but the official cause of death was listed as deferred while additional testing and studies are conducted.

HE HAD ONLY RECENTLY ENTERED THE FACILITY

According to the Los Angeles Times, Gerber had reportedly checked into the rehabilitation facility just hours before his death.

Emergency responders were called to the facility on the morning of Sept. 20 after reports involving an apparent overdose and cardiac arrest. Paramedics pronounced Gerber dead at approximately 9:45 a.m.

The investigation remains active, and authorities have not publicly established exactly what happened during his final hours.

HIS FAMILY IS “COMPLETELY IN SHOCK”

The death has left Gerber’s family devastated.

A source close to Cindy Crawford told PEOPLE that the 60-year-old supermodel was “heartbroken” following the death of her son.

Presley was the eldest child of Crawford and Rande Gerber. His younger sister, model Kaia Gerber, is 25.

A representative for the family has asked the public to respect their privacy during what they described as an extremely painful time.

RESLEY HAD SPOKEN OPENLY ABOUT HIS STRUGGLES

HIS FINAL PUBLIC APPEARANCE WAS WITH HIS PARENTS

Just three months before his death, Presley appeared alongside Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber at a mental-health-focused event in Malibu.

On June 11, 2026, he participated in a panel connected to the We Are ENOUGH x Aviator Nation event, where he spoke about his personal mental-health journey and the importance of taking care of himself.

The appearance was later revealed to have been his final public event.

In July, Crawford also publicly celebrated her son’s 27th birthday.

A MODEL WHO BUILT HIS OWN CAREER

Presley followed his mother’s path into fashion and began modeling as a teenager.

He made his runway debut for Moschino at 16 and later worked with major fashion houses and brands including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and Celine.

He also appeared in campaigns and editorial work alongside his younger sister, Kaia.

But beyond modeling, Presley increasingly used his visibility to talk about mental health and substance-use issues.

QUESTIONS REMAIN OVER HIS DEATH

While police are investigating the death as a suspected overdose, authorities have not yet publicly confirmed what substance, if any, was involved.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has deferred the official cause and manner of death pending additional testing.

Police have said there is no indication of foul play at this time.

That means several key questions surrounding Gerber’s final hours remain unanswered.
