A HEARTBREAKING PLEA: NINE-YEAR-OLD BOY FIGHTS RARE SKIN CONDITION

A nine-year-old boy who has spent nearly his entire summer in the hospital fighting severe complications from a rare genetic skin condition looked into a camera and asked strangers for something heartbreaking: “Please pray for me.”

Jamison was born with Harlequin ichthyosis, a severe disorder that causes the skin to grow abnormally thick and tight, leaving patients highly vulnerable to painful cracking, infections, and issues regulating body temperature and hydration. He has lived with the condition his entire life, but his mother, Alicia, says this past summer has been the scariest stretch they have ever faced.

“I have been in the hospital for this whole summer,” Jamison shared in the video. “I got nothing to do… it doesn’t make me happy. I really am not happy about my life. This is the worst life ever, and it feels like hell.”

Alicia explained that just days before recording the video, Jamison’s symptoms became so severe that even maximum prescribed doses of pain medication could not control his pain. He was also battling two severe bacterial infections that took a heavy toll on his fragile body, pushing both mother and son to their physical and emotional limits.

While Jamison’s condition has stabilized slightly, the family faces another difficult hurdle. Alicia is preparing to meet with twelve specialists alongside hospice and palliative care teams to discuss their options moving forward. Despite the overwhelming challenges, she continues to share their reality to raise awareness and request support.

Jamison’s message was simple yet profound. As he continues his brave fight, his family asks for prayers, compassion, and encouraging words to remind this young boy that he is not alone.
