A MIRACLE TWICE OVER: MANCHESTER MOTHER GIVES BIRTH TO TWINS 12 DAYS APART
A mother from Manchester has made medical history after giving birth to her twins nearly two weeks apart in what is believed to be the longest interval between twin births ever recorded in England. Vicky Green, 32, unexpectedly went into premature labor at just 26 weeks of pregnancy. She gave birth to her son, Presley Bradshaw, who weighed a delicate 1 pound 8 ounces. In a surprising turn of events, Vicky’s labor stopped immediately after his arrival, leaving her second baby safely inside the womb to continue growing and developing.

Medical specialists at St Mary’s Hospital decided against forcing the delivery of the second baby, choosing instead to monitor the mother closely. They hoped the extra time would significantly boost the infant’s chances of survival. Twelve days later, on June 20, doctors detected early signs of an infection and performed an emergency caesarean section to deliver her daughter, Paisley. Weighing 2 pounds 8 ounces, Paisley was a full pound heavier than her twin brother thanks to those crucial extra days.

Vicky, who had only learned about her pregnancy three weeks prior to Presley’s birth, expressed complete amazement at the rare experience. Doctors kept both infants in specialist neonatal care to help them grow stronger every day. Describing her twins as true little fighters, Vicky found tremendous comfort in watching them gain strength despite their extraordinary arrival. What began as a sudden premature labor ultimately became an incredible medical miracle.
