HEARTBREAKING UPDATE: SIR TOM JONES, 86, POSTPONES US CONCERTS ON DOCTOR’S ORDERS AFTER DEVELOPING SEVERE FLU

The legendary Welsh singer has apologized to fans after illness forced him to reschedule two California performances at the last minute.

Music legend Sir Tom Jones has left fans concerned after announcing the postponement of two upcoming US concerts following a sudden bout of illness.

The 86-year-old singer revealed on October 26 that he had developed what he described as a “bad case of the flu,” forcing him to change his plans on the advice of his doctor. The announcement came just hours before he was due to perform in Los Angeles.

Jones had also been scheduled to appear in San Diego the following evening. Both performances have now been rescheduled, rather than permanently cancelled.

In a message shared with fans, Jones reflected on the busy weeks he had spent touring the United States, saying he had completed 20 performances and enjoyed singing for audiences across the country.

However, his unexpected illness meant he needed to step back and follow medical advice.

The Los Angeles concert at the Greek Theatre has been moved to November 4, 2026, while the San Diego performance at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park is now scheduled for November 3, 2026.

Jones expressed regret over the last-minute changes and apologized to concertgoers who had been preparing to see him perform.

He said he looked forward to seeing fans again soon.

Organizers have confirmed that tickets purchased for the original dates will remain valid for the rescheduled performances. Fans who cannot attend the new dates can contact their original point of purchase to request a refund.

A CAREER THAT CONTINUES TO CAPTIVATE AUDIENCES

With a career spanning more than six decades, Jones remains one of Wales’ most recognizable musical stars. His celebrated hits include It’s Not Unusual, What’s New Pussycat? and She’s a Lady.

The singer has continued performing well into his eighties, bringing his distinctive voice to audiences around the world.

For now, fans will be hoping he gets the rest he needs and can return to the stage when he is well enough.

The important update: Jones has announced that two concerts are being rescheduled because of the flu. His statement did not announce a permanent cancellation of his US tour or disclose any more serious diagnosis.
