Tom Allan vanished from his family home in South Lanarkshire on October 23. Despite extensive searches involving specialist police teams, there has been no confirmed trace of him.

A Scottish family is facing another agonising day of uncertainty as the search continues for 63-year-old Tom Allan, who disappeared from South Lanarkshire a week ago.

Tom was last seen by his family at around 8:15am on Friday, October 23, near Westmains Farm in Stonehouse.

He was reported missing later that evening after his disappearance raised serious concerns among those closest to him.

Now, one week later, Police Scotland has issued a renewed appeal for information, saying officers remain extremely concerned for his welfare.

Police have been carrying out extensive searches across farmland and the surrounding area.

Specialist teams have been involved, including the police helicopter, dive and marine units, police dogs and mountain rescue teams, alongside partner agencies.

Officers are also asking anyone who lives, walks or drives in the area to think carefully about whether they may have seen Tom.

Motorists have been specifically urged to check their dashcam footage for anything that could help investigators establish his movements.

Inspector Kenny MacRobert said:

“Tom has now been missing for a week, and we are very concerned for his welfare.”

He also appealed to members of the public to report any possible sightings, even if they are unsure whether the person they saw was Tom.

As the search continues, Tom’s daughter, Gayle, has shared a photograph showing what her father was wearing when he left home.

She described his clothing as a white cap with a dark brim, navy blue boiler suit, green wellington boots and a green waterproof jacket. He was also wearing a red-collared jacket underneath.

His niece, Katy, has also appealed for people to keep sharing the missing-person information.

Her message was simple and heartbreaking: the family needs him home.

THE STORM CONNECTION REMAINS UNCLEAR

Tom disappeared as Storm Boelo brought severe weather to parts of Scotland, with strong winds and heavy rain affecting communities across the country.

The timing has raised questions about whether the weather could have played any part in his disappearance.

However, police have not confirmed any connection between the storm and Tom going missing. His whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unknown.
