AMNIOTIC BAND SYNDROME CHANGED OLLYVER’S START — ONE EYE, MANY SURGERIES, AND A LITTLE FIGHTER FULL OF LIFE

Ollyver born with amniotic band syndrome, a rare condition that can cause bands of tissue to form in the womb and affect a baby’s development, Ollyver entered the world with painful wounds and complications around his eye.

From the very beginning, doctors ensured he received proper pain relief to keep him as comfortable as possible. His family quickly learned that even the smallest signs — a cry, a movement — could mean discomfort.

“It was heartbreaking to see him in pain so early in life,” a family member shared. “All we wanted was for him to feel safe and comfortable.”

One of the early steps in his treatment involved removing a skin flap that had been causing irritation. After the procedure, his family noticed a change.

“He seemed more settled,” they said. “Before that, he was often very colicky, but afterward, he looked more at ease.”

Though Ollyver still experiences moments of discomfort — especially when his eye is touched — his family continues to carefully manage his pain with guidance from doctors.

“There are still days when he needs a little extra help,” they shared. “But overall, we truly believe he’s in less pain now.”

His journey is far from over. In the coming months, Ollyver will undergo additional surgeries to release remaining bands and improve his condition. Each step forward brings new hope for a more comfortable and active life.

Despite everything he has faced, Ollyver’s spirit shines through.

“He’s stronger than we ever imagined,” his family said. “He’s been fighting since the moment he was born, and he keeps surprising us every day.”
