A Georgia mother expecting to safely deliver her baby at hospital never imagined her daughter would instead enter the world on the side of a busy interstate surrounded by flashing lights and emergency crews.

But after a difficult high-risk pregnancy filled with complications and repeated hospital visits, the terrifying roadside delivery became a reality the family says they will never forget.

The couple had been racing from Henry County toward Northside Hospital when the mother suddenly realized labor was progressing far faster than expected.

As contractions intensified during heavy traffic along Interstate 75, panic quickly set in.

“We knew we weren’t going to make it to the hospital,” the mother later recalled. “Everything was happening so fast.”

“They helped bring our daughter safely into this world,” the mother said. “We just want the chance to thank them properly and show them the little girl they helped save.”
